We're building our collection by challenging each other in a competition which will generate our favourite recipes for this site. You will see here a real life exposé of the tensions and conflict in our family as four giant egos struggle for the prize of being the best cook on the block. It's full of thrills and spills, head games, deals, backstabbing, praise and condemnation, as one family faces its greatest challenge.
Words From Mother
Hello, I am Draga and I am the mother. Like most of the rest of the world these days we have a great family made up of many different people – not all related by blood, but all are definitely part of this family.
I am lucky enough to live near to my son, his new partner, his children, her child and my ex daughter in law.
Over one of many frequent family dinners (and most of us consider ourselves outstanding cooks), we thought how great it would be to all get away for a night and a great dinner on the town; but how to save the money in a fun way?
Hence the Family Cooking Club was born. Over the next 6 months, each of us will have several turns to provide a meal which will be judged on 3 levels – Taste, Presentation and Ingenuity. We each pay a small amount each week, and hey presto! we have lots of fun and also save the money for a night in a nice hotel and a night out at the end of it.
Watch over the following weeks and see how we all fare. There's John (my husband), Daniel (my Son), Tobie (Daniel's partner) and of course there's me, the Mum.
